Write a Matlab function that factors an input matrix A, and then uses this factorization
with Hager’s algorithm to estimate ||A-+||… Use this to get K. (A). Your function should do
the following:
1) Have A as the only input, and return matrix f, vector piv and scalar cn, where f and piv
are the factored matrix and pivot array from the Gaussian elimination program (lufac2a), and cn
is the estimated infinity-norm condition number of A.
2) Use the Matlab command norm(A, inf) to get || A||..-
3) Call lufac2a to get the factorization (fand piv).
4) If A is not invertible (flag > 0 after calling lufac2a), set cn=0 and return. Otherwise, use
Hager’s algorithm to estimate || A-+ |1.. (see the notes following the algorithm). Use your
function for solving Aū = ū to calculate A-ly for any vector 7, and your function for solving
A’ ū = for calculating (AT)-10 = (A-1)” 0.
