Hi,
I need step by step solutions for the 3 questions in the attached files. Solutions can be typed or handwritten.
Thanks 🙂

In this week’s discussion we’ll
take another look at modeling.
We’ll do this with word
problems as well as data
problems, and we’ll take a look at three different types of
models – exponential, logarithmic, and logistic models.
1. The population of a certain kind of fish in a lake has a
doubling time of 3.5 years. A scientist doing a study
estimates that there are currently about 900 fish in the
lake.
(a) Using only the the doubling time, estimate when
there will be 5000 fish in the lake.
Do this by saying that –
“It will take between
and
years for there
to be 5000 fish in the lake.”
(b) Create an exponential model for N, the fish
population, t years after the current year. Round k to
the thousandths place.
(c) Use your model from (b) to determine when, to the
nearest year, the fish population in the lake will reach
5000. Check with your answer to (a).

(a) Use logarithmic regression to fit a model to these
data.
(b) Use the model to predict the average American life
expectancy for the year 2030.
3. A rumor is spreading at a school that has a total
student population of 1200. Four people know the
rumor when it starts and three days later three hundred
people know the rumor. Use a logistic equation to
model the situation. About how many people at the
school know the rumor by the fourth day?

2. Due to advances in medicine and higher standards of
living, life expectancy has been increasing in most
developed countries since the beginning of the 20th
century.
The table below shows the average life expectancies, in
years, of Americans from 1900-2010.
Let x represent time in decades starting with for the
year 1900, for the year 1910, and so on. Let y represent
the corresponding life expectancy.
