OBJECTIVES
You got your first editing gig! You’re working on Monk, the hit show for NBC | Universal. You
need to assemble this scene for the director on set, they need to see it put together to make
sure that they have all the footage they need and don’t need any pickups.
In this assignment, you will edit a scene [footage provided] with dialogue between 2 people.
Follow the Shot-Reverse-Shot approach and editing techniques we discussed in the previous
classes. The project will be done over three classes. Your instructor will demo the process and
then give you time to attempt it on your own. For editing, you will receive a work period with
your instructor present. This will give you a chance to edit with someone there to answer all
your questions.
If you are comfortable using Avid, you are more than welcome to move ahead outside of class
time.
