Task(s)
New skill(s)
Meeting(s)
Difficulty/ Challenge(s)
What are the activities and tasks given to you during this
month?
• I’ve learned related to the Units Transportation
Expenses Tracking which track the cost of the
requests for shipping some materials such as
mechanical seals, general materials, raw materials and
repairing equipment outside our department locally in
another department which is located in another city.
For example, shipping these materials from Ras
Tanura to Dhahran to process an additional repair
utilizing their capability and quality.
• One of the main task I’ve taken this week is that
taking the cost or expense of the processes
transportation of one of our division units which is
Ras Tanura Machine Shop.
What skills did you learn through the month?
I’ve learned how we could track and get the required cost to
track transportation requests of a unit by overviewing the
tracking numbers (truck request number) from SAP system.
How many meetings did you attend?
Two meetings were conducted individually with the contract
planner and maintenance planner of the specific unit.
What are the difficulties you had this month?
One of the main things is that Data Accuracy which I need to
be sure regarding the accuracy of the data inputs from the
SAP and errors in recording can lead to incorrect cost
calculations and this might affect financial planning of the
division. Also, I’ve faced some issues in displaying the cost
from the SAP system in the beginning because I had no
authority to display the SAP then one of the planned
explained to me in how to apply it and process it for
approval.
How did you overcome these difficulties?
By helping one of the planners to guide me in how to apply
and get the SAP system access.

Difficulty/ Challenge(s)
Learning
What are the activities and tasks given to you during this
month?
I’ve assigned to work on checking, tracking the Man Hours
Cost specially for the contractor’s labors as well as the
employees working hours cost and how this type of cost
might affect to the production budget.
What skills did you learn through the month?
I’ve learned and reviewed in how we could manage and audit
the Man Hours Cost. For example, knowing that we should
include allocating scarce machine hours or limited supplies
of materials to products. The main information or skill which
I knew that Man Hours Cost is multiple levels of volume and
this is called a flexible budget.
How many meetings did you attend?
I haven’t been included in any meeting this week.
What are the difficulties you had this month?
I had several difficulties such as calculating the estimation
Man Hours Cost so we could plan the flexible and production
budget. As the flexible budget should be prepared at the
beginning of the year for planning purposes, and at the end of
the year for performance evaluation.
How did you overcome these difficulties?
I’ve reviewed the managerial accounting materials to know
how the assigning costs to cost objects will be. To illustrate,
referring to the direct costs (which is costs that can be easily
traced to other cost object) such as direct materials and direct
labors. The other assigning cost is indirect costs (which is
costs that can’t be easily traced to other cost objects) such as
manufacturing overhead.
What did you learn from completing the tasks
I’ve learned how each cost is very important to plan ahead
the organization budgets. Because each cost whether fixed or
variable has an impact on the organization’s strategy and
financial health.
What did you want to learn more?
College of Administration and Finance Sciences
How we could be specific and avoiding mistakes on
calculating the costs of a big companies. By understanding
different cost types (Fixed Costs, Variable Costs & SemiVariable Costs). As well as by using the detailed cost
categories (Direct Costs, Indirect Costs and Overhead Costs).
