This worksheet will walk you through the steps to create a Pareto chart, a circle graph, and time-series
graph, like the examples below from your Introductory Statistics textbook.
A. Instructions: Create a Pareto chart for the data in Exercise 8(a) in your Introductory Statistics
textbook, which is reproduced here:
Note: In a Pareto chart, the bars can also be arranged from top to bottom.

Step 1: Order the data in Exercise 8(a) from greatest to least.
Step 2: Label the horizontal and vertical axes and mark the frequency axis in equally-spaced intervals.
STEP 3: Draw and color in equally-spaced bars of equal width that extend vertically to each value in the
data set. Then write the frequency for each category above each bar. Finally, label the chart with an
informative, appropriate title.
Using the information found in Exercise 8(a), draw, color in, and label the bars for your Pareto chart
and label it with an appropriate title.

B. Instructions: Create a circle graph for the data in Exercise 8(b) in your Introductory Statistics
textbook, which is reproduced here:

for each sector (piece) of the circle.
