Re: Request for Forensic Accounting Services – PSU Falcons
Dear Zeyad Abdelaziz, Deena Alyahya, and PSU Falcons,
My name is John Tira, and I am a Senior Managing Director with Green Flash Forensics, a forensic
accounting firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It is very nice to meet you by way of this letter,
and I look forward to speaking with you in the near future. I am joined by my colleagues Nathan Fan and
Brian Rohl, who will guide you through this process.
A long-time client of mine has requested that my firm perform a forensic accounting investigation related to
a series of financial transactions. However, based on my firm’s current workload, we simply do not have
the necessary resources to conduct this investigation. I have reached out to many colleagues to see if they
could assist. All of those contacts declined, but each contact recommended that I reach out to Doctors
Waleed and Samar from Prince Sultan University. Based on the information provided to me, Doctors
Waleed and Samar’s forensic accounting students would be well suited for this project. As such, I am
contacting you to request your assistance with this matter.
As explained above, my firm is requesting that your team perform a forensic investigation of a certain
individual – Mr. Underwood – and review certain financial records. Based on the information provided to
us, we have reason to believe that certain transactions may be considered illegal and/or unethical. Your
task is to examine the Underwood financial records and to conduct follow-up investigations as appropriate
to identify assets and assist in potential criminal investigations. We wish for you and your team to analyze

the records included herein and to provide a formal presentation to my firm (which may include other
colleagues) via a virtual presentation on May 9, 2024 (with a specific date to be determined).
When conducting your analyses, we suggest you do the perform the following:
1.
Plan the records collection.
2.
Obtain and inventory available records.
3.
Develop a schedule, database, or spreadsheet and enter the records into it.
4.
Review the records for investigative leads.
5.
Analyze the records:
a.
Date
b.
Payee
c.
Deposit
d.
Memo
e.
“category”
f.
some combination of the above
6.
Review the records for patterns.
7.
Review the records for unusual deposits or payments.
8.
Review for what is “missing” and elaborate on which records, if obtained could progress your
analysis
9.
Analyze flow between/among accounts.
10.
Develop a visual depiction.
Again, because our firm does not have the resources to analyze the attached documents. We expect you
and your team to notify us of any anomalies, inconsistencies, issues, or improprieties that you may identify
during your investigation. In addition, while we understand that your previous experiences with similar
engagements will provide you with a roadmap of how to approach this investigation, at the very minimum
we request that you scrutinize the parties to the transactions as well as the location of those transactions.
Of course, should you identify additional/other documents that you deem relevant to the investigation,
please request that information from me. For any information requests, please issue a formal “Request for
Information”, and please send that to my colleagues (either Mr. Fan or Mr. Rohl) no later than Monday
February 26th, 2024. I cannot guarantee that any additional information will be available, but I will make
every effort to fulfill your requests.
Please also coordinate with your coaches (Mr. Fan or Mr. Rohl) to establish a time to discuss preliminary
logistics during March 4th through March 7th (8AM Pacific) and the progress of your presentation during
the week of April 22nd through April 25th (8AM Pacific).
I look forward to your investigation findings and presentation.
Respectfully,
John Tira
