Conclusion
Soul music can easily be said to a popular music genre whose origin is from the
African American community all over the United States within the early 1950s
and 1960s. Soul music can be considered to possess aspects of the African
American rhythm and blues, gospel music as well as jazz. The soul music directly
and indirectly influenced and impacted the African American society, especially
on the fight against discrimination of the black people. The soul music is,
therefore, a reflection of the United States’ pluri-ethnic population via different
arrays of styles.
